2022 Honours Project Scholarships
Attention all graduating Geoscience undergrads who are interested in critical metals, economic geology, and geochemistry.
The ANU Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES) has two exciting Honours Project Scholarships on offer commencing in 2022.
The Geochemistry Group at the RSES in collaboration with Dreadnought Resources Ltd are offering two exciting Honours projects for anticipated commencement in early 2022.
Geology applicants from any Australian University are eligible to apply. Projects include a scholarship, all travel and analytical expenses and each student will spend a month in the field in early 2022 working with Dreadnought staff, Professor John Mavrogenes and PhD student Ross Chandler.
The projects
These projects are centered on two of Dreadnought’s recent critical minerals discoveries.
Project 1: The geology, mineralogy and geochemistry of the Yin ironstone-hosted REE prospect, WA.
Project 2: A study of the diverse multi-element (Cu-Au-Ag-Co-As-Bi) systems of the King Leopold Orogen, WA
This is an ideal opportunity for any students seeking to enter the minerals industry. Based in Canberra with field work in WA (borders permitting), both projects are well funded (including a living stipend) and will utilise a mix of field- and lab-based analytical techniques to unravel the mineralogical and chemical complexities of these two fascinating systems.
