Rob studies the biogeochemistry of trace metals in the modern ocean and uses this understanding to develop new geochemical palaeo-records of past ocean conditions. He is very active in the GEOTRACES programme, and has a strong focus on geochemical palaeo-proxy method development (more info soon).
