Edgar Leong

PhD Student

I am a PhD student working with the Geodynamics group at the RSES. My research has the overarching goal of addressing the inescapable need for a low-carbon future, which is largely driven by the use of ever-increasing volumes of a variety of critical metals. Much of these are hosted in sedimentary basins, and so I aim to unravel the architecture and evolutionary history of prominent resource-rich basins, whose formation mechanisms remain a great mystery.

I grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I enjoy football, playing the guitar and cooking up new recipes. I do not like Cherry Ripes or Turkish Delights.
