Caption: When you look at it under the microscope and it looks back at you.' An image taken under transmitted light of an unusually large layered porphyritic olivine chondrule (quenched molten droplets in space) in a >4.5 billion years old meteorite (CR carbonaceous chondrite). The dark spherical grains in the chondrule are Fe-Ni metal and the dark groundmass around the chondrule is the clay-rich opaque matrix.Picture ID: 46
